Have you ever seen New York in the fall? Seeing the leaves change in Central Park from their bright greens to more subdued oranges, yellows, and reds? Crunchy leaves on the ground and s chunky knit scarf with a hot apple cider in your hand (guys- I really hate pumpkin spice lattes). This is my favorite time of year! It’s impossible not to be obsessed with fall in the city! Which is exactly why Hannah and Chris booked their engagement session with me in Central Park.
I knew from the very first email I got from Hannah that we were going to have a lot of fun together, but she was writing me from California (booking your engagement session while on vacation in NYC? Highly recommend), so it was hard to know for sure. After a few emails back and forth, we started following each other on Instagram and that’s when I fell in love 😂
After a day full of raining and lots of texts back and forth like, “should we reschedule?” “nah girl- we’re doing this!” etc., I arrived at Bethesda Terrace to wait for Hannah and Chris. Within minutes of them arriving, we were rolling on the ground laughing. When I say I have never laughed so hard while photographing an engagement session, I’m not exaggerating. These two were so good and natural in front of the camera and accepted every weirdo prompt I threw at them, and did it with joy and humor. Even strangers walking by stopped to tell us how much fun it looked like we were having. And
we were! It was an absolute blast! The one-hour session flew by and before we knew it, we were wrapping up and saying goodbye. Hannah and Chris went back to the west coast to prepare for their July 2020 wedding, and I got to go home and get started editing these cuties.
(P.S. Scroll through all the photos to the very bottom to see some of my favorite edits I’ve ever made)
I promised good edits, and good edits you shall receive. I had given Chris and Hannah a prompt to walk through this wooded area in Central Park, near Bow Bridge (very good and popular spot, especially for taking photos). But I had used a word that set all of us off into deep belly laughter. I told them to “frolic” and I could in no way have ever predicted what would become of that simple instruction. Please turn your attention to Chris’s arm. Look at it! Chris! What are you doing with that thing!? I showed them this photo on the back of my camera and that was it 😂😂 We started to imagine all of the things Chris was holding in his arms that would lead him to walk like that, and folks- they’re here with us today. Presenting to you: Chris’s arm. A fine art body of work.Always a pleasure to have good clients who can laugh at themselves!
