Genuine community and authentic living are the core pillars of my life and what bring me endless joy. I wanna actually hang out with you and hear about everything you're thinking for this whole thing
...and I wanna tell you a little bit about me
I was always the creative one in the family. The same day that I got my first camera, I got my first journal and began writing all kinds of stories. I romanticized the world around me, daydreaming about love stories and wild adventures in far off places. I wondered what my life could look like if I could pack up my bags and leave the midwest forever.
And then, when I turned eighteen,
I did exactly that.
On a hot day in September, I drove fourteen hours south to Georgia, where I enrolled in the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). After four years, I had a bachelor's of fine art in photography and an itch for adventure. I once again packed up my life and moved- this time to New York City, where I've been ever since. After three years of living and working here, I decided to start my photography business, built on the belief that there's beauty in the mundane and small reasons to romanticize everything.
Old Faithful,
Yellowstone National Park, 1999
(and I always have been)
It was a pink plastic Barbie film camera with a white daisy adorning the lens. My family and I had parked our camper outside the park for a night during our 2-week-long road trip across the country. Two parents, five kids, one dog, and a nanny.
We were finishing our sightseeing in Yellowstone National Park before heading south through Grand Tetons National Park to Four Corners. My love for the outdoors and adventure was probably stirring in me even before this trip, but those fourteen days on the road stayed with me throughout adolescence and into adulthood. It’s probably what led me to destination weddings and adventurous elopements.
fleeting moments on film
spontaneous dance parties
last minute weekend trips
late night bodega runs
All of those silly little things about me - the journaling, the Taylor Swift obsession, the need to live intentionally - they all inform the way I see the world as an artist, and the way I create my art and illustrate your love story.
I'm an eternal optimist and I live every day with the mindset that every little moment is fleeting. I believe in big fun, big adventure, big feelings. Every good day, every bad day- they’re still only 24 hours long, and it’s very cool that we get to decide how to live those 24 hours.
But this
isn't
about
me
This is about you and your story. This isn't about looking a certain way in your photos, this is about feeling a certain way on the most memorable day of your life. This is about having somebody in your corner, advocating for you to do what truly feels right for you, every step along the way.
I want to tell your story; no one else's. I want to get to know you and learn every unique little detail to your personal love story. And then I want to make it last forever on film.
