No crazy blog post to write here except that 2½ year olds are the absolute best. Specifically, however, Kate is the absolute best.
I’ve been babysitting Kate for almost as long as she’s been alive and I’ve loved getting to watch her learn and grow and become this tiny little person with the biggest personality. I know there is a big stigma in the art world, and maybe even compounded in the photography world, that we need to be one thing. We need to be just photographers, nothing else. Can you imagine? I have so many passions and things I love to do, and I think when you make a career out of your passions, it makes way for multiple sources of joy. We’re taught that work should be draining, a Monday through Friday drag, ultimately unfulfilling. But I think we can rebuild a world where our work is our joy and we’re able to spend our time doing what we love- whether that’s working or sleeping or spending time with two years olds.
Anyway, I think that’s ultimately a talk for another time. This time however can be spent by ogling over this adorable mommy and me session in Central Park! Shot with the sun setting and a warm glow over all of us, these photos are filled with love… I can say even though I’m biased for this little doll.
Can’t get enough Kate? I also photographed her first birthday, eighteen months ago! You can find it here.
