Today, we’re jumping into the sweetest love story of Jen and Pat, a couple from the city that never sleeps – New York City. I’m spilling all the deets on their engagement session in the heart of Astoria. Buckle up for a night filled with late night cocktails, hallway kisses, and a gorgeous sunset to end the night!

Mar’s Restaurant in Astoria, New York

As we started planning, Jen and Pat shared with me that they had their first date at Mar’s Restaurant in Astoria. It obviously turned out PERFECT, and Pat proposed right there in that same restaurant! Hearing all of this, I knew it had to be part of their engagement photos. They were open to ideas, which is always so fun for me! I channeled my creative side and decided on full flash photos at the bar. Mar’s even opened an hour early for us to take steamy photos around the restaurant.

Sentimental Stories at Sunset

As the sun began to set, we made our way outside to the streets of Astoria. Jen and Pat call Astoria home sweet home. How perfect is that? It made the session extra special for them and for me, who’s also an Astoria dweller. We walked the same path Jen and Pat take every day, soaking in each story, memory, and moment they’ve shared here in this place. It was magical to listen to how important this city has become to their love story. We strolled down 34th Avenue and basked in the warmth of the sunset, until it was completely set, then we took a ride on the subway.
